So far it's a fun game. The paradigm shift thing is going to take some getting used to and tweaking but over all I am having a good time. The cinematics are amazing.

On another note. I went to the midnight release last night and all I can say is WOW. RPG guys are a different breed than the Halo players. I only went because it is on my way home from work. These kids looked like they crawled out of the basement for the first time in ten years. I walked in and they were all sitting in a circle passing a fern around talking about their first rpg experience, the best avatar they ever had in any game and any other rpg random trivia that they knew. I actually heard someone say "F you my level 70 rougue could take you anyday...." He then commenced rattling off stats and weapons from memory....LOL I was cracking up when the Gamestop guy asked me what was funny and I just said "Nothing, this is just a litle different than the Halo release huh." He gave me a smile and said "Ohhh yeah" We both laughed.

That made me laugh, esp. the part about them crawling out of the basement for the first time in 10 years.

That reminds me of the Blood Ninja cybersex trolling I posted a while back.

Bloodninja: Baby, I been havin a tough night so treat me nice aight?
BritneySpears14: Aight.
Bloodninja: Slip out of those pants baby, yeah.
BritneySpears14: I slip out of my pants, just for you, Bloodninja.
Bloodninja: Oh yeah, aight. Aight, I put on my robe and wizard hat.
BritneySpears14: Oh, I like to play dress up.
Bloodninja: Me too baby.
BritneySpears14: I kiss you softly on your chest.
Bloodninja: I cast Lvl 3 Eroticism. You turn into a real beautiful woman.
BritneySpears14: Hey...
Bloodninja: I meditate to regain my mana, before casting Lvl 8 Cock of the Infinite.
BritneySpears14: Funny I still don't see it.
Bloodninja: I spend my mana reserves to cast Mighty F*ck of the Beyondness.
BritneySpears14: You are the worst cyber partner ever. This is ridiculous.
Bloodninja: Don't f**k with me biznitch, I'm the mightiest sorcerer of the lands.
Bloodninja: I steal yo soul and cast Lightning Lvl 1,000,000. Your body explodes into a fine bloody mist, because you are only a Lvl 2 Druid.
BritneySpears14: Don't ever message me again you piece of sh*t.
Bloodninja: Robots are trying to drill my brain but my lightning shield inflicts DOA attack, leaving the robots as flaming piles of metal.
Bloodninja: King Arthur congratulates me for destroying Dr. Robotnik's evil army of Robot Socialist Republics. The cold war ends. Reagan steals my accomplishments and makes like it was cause of him.
Bloodninja: You still there baby? I think it's getting hard now.
Bloodninja: Baby?

yeah my first rpg game that got me hooked was grandia 2 for dreamcast then chrono trigger for the play station, rpgs bring in the nerds dude lol. the combat system was slow at first but when u get into the second disc it gets more challenging. I can say that you will see the game over screen many times. and get tired of fighting countless monsters, just take some breaks. also i would fight every monster on the map, u will need as many CP points as you can get if you skip them ur party wont be strong and get killed later on.

I've already seen the game over screen a few times...

The paradigm deck is key. You HAVE to have the right paradigm set up and be ready to shift immediately. It's fun but like you said it takes some getting used to. Definately a change from the turn based days.

On another note...

Hope is a pussy and I can't figure out where Vanila is from...Australia maybe...either way her voice is annoying as hell. I hear Hope becomes good as the game progresses though.

I farmed a little bit on some easy enemies and am completely maxed out on everything at the moment. I can see that some of the guys are obviously better served on certain roles. Should I be saving all my CP for later advancement so I can specialize? I'm also trying to figure out when is the best time to start upgrading weapons and which ones to upgrade. Any advice?

Hope is getting better. He still acts like a pussy though.

I'm getting a lot more used to the paradigms. I finally realized that your energy bar is full everytime you switch. That makes it really easy. Especially if you get a preemptive strike.

use all ur cp on each character that has a role for example for lightning i used her mainly as commando had her commando maxed most of the time then have medic/ravg come second .for ur main medic use ur cp on the medic crystallization. for weapons i maxed lightnings gun blade max levels for weapons are 25 some items are 6 some are 11. save ur money don't use all of it because there will come times when u need to max out certain items to keep ur party from dieing or getting hit with spells. some items u find are for u to sell . they are the ones that aren't good for leveling up weapons but sell for good money. the weapon u choose to level up to 25 will be the only weapons ur gonna use because even when u find new weapons for that character it will never be as powerful as the one u maxed out. u don't want to max out multiple weapons for one character ur better off using it on other characters items

On the weapons the max is 25? I thought that the best way to do it would be to get your 3x multiplyer with the "organic" items then add the mechanical items to max out but bring your multiplyer back level and then synthesize the weapon to it's next version. Each weapon has two higher versions you can synthesize to correct? The last being the Ultimate or "omega."

I'm just trying to decide when to start doing it, what is safe to sell and which weapon I want the guys to have because they all have different advantages when upgrading.

I'm in Chapter 10 right now with everything max'd out. I know that as soon as my next CP level becomes available it is going to get real expensive so I'm saving up so I can hopefully max out first thing. We'll see. I'm still debating what weapons I want to upgrade though. I think I will be sticking with Lightning, Fang and Hope for my main party and just specializing the rest as needed. They seem the most versatile.
